Reserves first game of the season..

Settle Utd 8 – 1 Gargrave Reserves

The Reserves travelled to Settle to meet the same opponents they were up against in the first game of the season last year. Fortunately this year the result was kept in single figures!

Gargrave started the game well with several of their players making their debut for the club. Settle took advantage of some errors in play and were 2-0 up at half time. Gargrave continued to battle bravely against a strong Settle contingent who notched up a further six goals before the    final whistle blew. The visitors did not allow Settle a clean sheet, a good passing move from Robert Barker to the lively Matthew Hurst then gave Jonathan Chapman the opportunity to claim a good goal. Man of the match for Gargrave was Martin Eyles.
