Waddington FC 6 – 2 Gargrave AFC
September 25, 2010
It was a case of deja vous for Gargrave after suffering the same scoreline at Grindleton last week.
Gargrave felt they were still in with a chance when the scoreline was two goals each but Waddington began to catch the Gargrave defence out with their long ball tactics which led to the majority of their six goal foray. The two goals for the visitors came from Matthew Hirst and a penalty kick from Ben Brown.
Hellifield Sports 4 – 1 Gargrave Reserves
September 25, 2010
Gargrave travelled the short distance to newly re-formed Hellifield Sports for their local Derby match on Saturday. Hellifield got an early goal from a long throw in which went straight over the defence for an easy tap in. Gargrave enjoyed much of the possession and player manager, Matty Simpson in his first game back from injury dominated the midfield which earned him the man of the match award from his opponents. Hellifield made a rare break and created a second goal.
An own goal gave Hellifield a 3-0 lead shortly into the second half of play. Gargrave substitute, Ben Wilson played a cross and a defensive error from the Hellifield keeper gave Sam Ashby the opportunity to score a consolation goal . Gargrave began to tire and the physically stronger side scored their fourth goal of the game. A promising performance from the young Gargrave squad. Ryan Preston was Hellifield`s man of the match.

Gargrave Reserves 0 – 4 Ighton Leigh Reserves
September 19, 2010
Ighton Leigh Reserves started the game well, maintaining a good percentage of the possession. Their first goal came on the half hour mark and the second came just before the break.
Gargrave had their chances to score but it was Ighton Leigh who were to produce two more goals to double their tally. Gargrave continued to work hard and their young line up of players marshalled by their more experienced man of the match Jonathan Chapman finished the game well. A good all round team performance from the hosts. Man of the match for the Lancashire side was Gary Hodgkiss.
A disappointing start to the season for Gargrave`s Ben Ashby who unfortunately ended the afternoon in Airedale Hospital where he was found to have broken his ankle.
Gargrave Reserves 0 – 2 Earby Town FC
September 11, 2010
Gargrave Reserves were pleased with their performance despite Earby winning the game 2-0. Gargrave started with a weakened team due to cricket and work commitments. Martin Eyles stepped in as keeper and young Josh Prell made a good debut. The young squad played extremely well despite the absence of some of their stronger players. It was level pegging at half time but Earbys two good strikes early on in the second half gave them the points. Robert Barker earned the man of the match award for the hosts whilst Gary Davis earned the plaudits for the visitors.
Grindleton FC 6 – 2 Gargrave FC
September 11, 2010
Player manager Matt Brown was sadly out of action after a mid week car accident and his team were further hit by unavailablity and injuries.
Grindleton took the lead but Ben Brown levelled the score. Grindleton took advantage as Gargrave began to falter and they scored a further five goals. However man of the match Christian Moon did restore some faith when he scored Gargraves second.
