Embsay Reserves 4 – 1 Gargrave Reserves

February 20, 2011

The quarter final fixture of the Craven FA  Norman Pratt Trophy was switched to the ground at Gargrave on Saturday due to the wintery conditions at Embsay.

Embsay attacked from the very start and almost scored two minutes into the game when a shot from a corner ball hit the bar. Shortly afterwards they made no mistake when a long range shot gave stand in keeper Martin Eyles no chance . Gargrave worked hard but were given few attempts on goal.Embsay scored their second.

Gargrave began to come back into the game in the second half of play though it was Embsay who scored to take them into a 3-0 lead. The hosts continued to attack and a consolation close range goal from Harry Thompson gave them re-newed confidence. However it was Embsay who had the last word with a great strike into the top corner of the net in a game which saw them take a worthy place in the semi final of the cup competition.
