Gargrave AFC 3 – 1 Earby Town FC
December 10, 2012
The game was late starting when the appointed referee failed to appear. Fortunately Mr.Peter Brennand was able to step into the breach once a spare pair of boots were found for him.
Gargrave opened the scoring through Tom Varey from a goal mouth scramble. John Beckwith added a second from the penalty spot after a hand ball. A good shot from Al Tudhope hit the back of the net but was disallowed due to the offside ruling. Earby found it increasingly hard to penetrate a solid Gargrave defence with stand in keeper Liam Jameson having an outstanding game.
The visitors did however manage to get on the score sheet but Gargrave increased their lead to 3-1 through a second goal from Varey.
