Gargrave AFC 4 – 0 Bingley Town FC

February 19, 2012

It was a clean sheet for Ben Heap one of Gargrave`s old keepers returning for his debut game of the season.  Gargrave had the best of the attacking play in the first half . A lone run from James French and a resulting intelligent lob notched up the first goal for the home side. Bingleys chances on goal were few and their first real effort came on the half hour mark but Gargraves returning hero was in control. A one on one with Heap went wide and Al Tudhope was unlucky when his shot went straight to the keeper. The dynamic Simon Boatwright and man of the match defender turned midfielder Dan Thompson combined well in the middle and provided some good through balls. James French scored his second of the game from close range just before the break. French continued to press for goal and was soon rewarded with his hat trick. Bingley went down to ten men after a second yellow card offence. Gargrave continued with their attacking play and a powerful shot from Al Tudhope rattled the bar. Matthew Brennand took advantage of a static Bingley defence with a close range shot which sealed his sides solid 4-0 win.
