Annual General Meeting……

May 29, 2014

The Craven League have named Gargrave`s Liam Jameson as their Division One player of the year as voted for by the  opposition teams. The awards were presented at the Leagues Annual General meeting on Wednesday evening.

Gargrave will hold their Annual General meeting on Tuesday 10th June at 7.30.p.m in the Cricket Pavilion. Everyone welcome.

Players are reminded that they need to sign the rolling registration form before the 31st July if they would like to continue playing for Gargrave. New players may also sign on at any point by requesting a new registration form. Please contact Dan or Caroline Thompson ( caroline@sandjsthompson.co.uk ). Alternately the forms will be available to fill in  and/or sign at the Annual General meeting.

Please help out with the raising of funds for the club after the annual show at Gargrave on Saturday 16th August from around 6.p.m onwards. The show committee give the club a donation for the clearing of the field, taking down fences, removing posts etc. It is a quick job if there are enough helpers.

Big Thanks…..

Time now for a rest as the season was completed on Saturday.

The rolling register is now available via Dan for any players wishing to play for Gargrave next season, this must be completed and signed  by the 31st July. New players please contact the club to sign and complete a new registration form.

Thanks are extended to our kit sponsor, John Whitelock and our pitch sponsor, Ray Patrick.

Many thanks to John, Nicola and all the staff at The Masons Arms for their kind after match hospitality and to Anne and Geoff of Gargrave Newsagents for displaying the weekly fixture notices.

A reminder please, we only ask the players once a year to help with fundraising for the club, this means giving up and hour or two at the tops to help with the clearing of Gargrave showfield on August 16th. ( taking down fences, emptying bins etc ). It is a very quick and easy way to top up the funds which are slowly receding due to high costs with water, electric, ground insurance, rates, player insurance, refs fee`s, footballs etc etc . The show Committee give us a donation for the work.

Gargrave AFC 0 – 4 Settle Utd

May 5, 2014

It was a tough call to play the top of the table team in the last game of the season where little rested on the result for either team.

Warm conditions and a dry pitch proved tiring for both squads but Settle had the edge and the scoring capabilities.
