Pre season update…..

August 7, 2014

The first friendly of the season took place on Tuesday 5th August vs Broomhill FC, unfortunately due to mechanical problems with the mower the grass was a bit long but it was still a valuable run out for both teams.

Gargrave were pleased with their performance and all their players took part in all or part of the game. The squad shows promise with a good core of last seasons players plus some returning players of old and some teenage lads. Training sessions continue at the football field on Tuesday evenings and the first game of the season will commence on the 19th August at home vs Hellifield.

Many thanks to a good friend of the club who answered the plea for a volunteer to paint the white railings around the pitch. Chris Lancaster has removed the rust from both lengths and has commenced painting, anyone else who fancies giving an hour or two of their time please contact Caroline who will provide the paint and brushes.

Volunteers again please to help clear the showfield of fence posts, railings, litter bins etc on August 16th from 6.p.m, showfield at the front of Eshton Hall. An easy quick job as long as there are a few of us. The show committee donate £200 to the club for this work. We do need these extra funds, last years utility bills alone amounted to £748.00!This year we also have the added expense of the purchase of two new goalposts. If you want to know more about the show clearing please contact our club chairman and show committee member  John 07850318137.
