Players subs….

November 17, 2011

Will all players try to keep up todate with their match subs. Most of the clubs in the Craven League are now charging at least £5 per game plus a signing on fee  averaging £10.00 so our subs ( plus no siging on fee )  are very reasonable in comparision.  The fee for a referee has increased and dependant on the mileage they charge, we are now paying anything from £25 per game to £37.00. Our players subs of £3 per game just about cover that over the season but only if everyone pays! Please pay any that are outstanding as soon as you can.

Most goals:

November 6, 2011

The top goal scorers at the club ( League and Craven FA games combined ) are currently Ben Brown 8 ( 4 in the league and 4 in the Craven Cup ), John Beckwith 6, Matthew Simpson, Tom Varey and Harry Thompson ( 4 in the league and 1 in the Craven Cup ) 5 each, and Robert Barker and Matt Brown with 4 goals each.

Leading the table in the Craven League is Rolls Royce player Fran Powell with 11 goals.

First games of the season:

August 30, 2011

The first team kick off their season with a home game on the 10th September vs Earby Town. Referee Tony Venn.

The second team have to wait a further week for their first game when they play Embsay Reserves on the 17th September( also at home ). Referee Alan Hosker.

Will all players who owe yellow card fines please pay them before the season commences or before you get some more!

A poor turnout for a simple fund raising event when we took down the fences and rings and cleared the general rubbish after Gargrave show .A big thank you to those who did raise £200 for club funds.

Pre season update:

August 16, 2011

Gargrave show takes place on Saturday 20th August and the club receive a generous donation( from the show committee ) towards their club funds when they meet to clear the field of posts, fences, rings, rubbish etc . Please can players meet at the field at 6.p.m. This is a quick and simple way to raise funds for the club if there are plenty of us.

The seasons fixtures are now up on the league web-site. The first team will play Earby Town at Gargrave on the opening day the 10th September whilst the Reserves have no game scheduled. It would seem likely that the 17th September will be a Craven FA cup game day, no fixtures available yet as the draw does not take place until the 25th August. Will all players please sign the white signing on forms which are for the Craven FA games. The rolling registration form( for previous seasons players ) and the purple forms ( new players or players who did not sign the rolling registrations form before the 31st July) are for Craven league purposes only.

Team Managers for 2011/12….

June 15, 2011

The Annual General meeting was held recently and our team managers for the next season are Matt Brown for the First team amd Jonathon Chapman for the Reserve squad. Simon Boatwright is assistant to Matt and Aidie Eyles will assist Chappie. The subs will remain at £3.00 per game ( even more reason to join the club ) which everyone decided was very fair when there are so many young players particularly in the Reserve squad. Pre season training  has already commenced and Matt will be pleased to see any new players at the all weather pitch at Sandylands on a Tuesday evening  7-8 p.m, £2.00 per session. Chappie is taking advantage of free training sessions by using the Village green pitch  on Tuesday evenings from 6.30 – 8.p.m though he will be using Sandylands later on in the year. Everyone is most welcome to come along to either session, new players must be aged sixteen or over before or during the season. The first team will be playing in Division one of the Craven League and the Reserve squad will be playing in Division two. The season will commence on the first Saturday in September.

The re-seeding of the goal area`s has gone well. The first team were congratulated on winning the Fair play trophy. The rolling registrations form is being circulated and team managers have signing on forms for new players.
